It's The Weekend!

What are you doing this weekend?  Right now we are hoping the rain will hold off so that we can celebrate Will's birthday with a pool party and then go see my sister's show, King Arthur and the Sword of Britain.  Hope your weekend is beautiful!  Here are some interesting links, if you'd like to see:

Have a Wonderful Long Weekend

Do you have any special plans for the long weekend?  Today my mother, sister and I are going to Ikea, and tomorrow my family is participating in the PetPromise Rescue Run for homeless pets.  Will and I are also attending a gathering to celebrate with Aaron and Kristina, who are getting married next weekend (yay!).  I hope you get to spend some time relaxing, and below are some interesting links if you'd like to take a look.

Hello Again!

After a roughly 6 month hiatus, a blog facelift (complete with new header!) and a large re-focusing effort, Hello Crow is back online!

My hope is to bring you oodles of information about theatre, events and life in Columbus, as well as a smattering of photos, good times, loved ones and the occasional crow:)

A Snowboarding Crow, and Other Such Tales

A new friend and I had a conversation not long ago about crows laughing.  This got me thinking about what crows (and other animals) might do for fun: here's what I found.

Nick Nolte has a pet crow!

While on the computer last night, Oscar dresses floating merrily in the background on tv, I overheard a bit of news that delighted me: Nick Nolte has had two pet crows.  One, named John David Crow, appeared with him in the movie U-Turn.

I promptly told Will, to which he replied "no" jokingly:)  But I've always thought it would be nice to wake up to a friendly neighborhood crow, even if the same one just came round every now and then to say hello.

This video is amazing.  Cassie was an abandoned kitten that was adopted by Moses: he would even feed her out of his mouth!  A beautiful story of true friendship.

Hello, Crow!

This past Friday, December 23rd, I got my sixth tattoo: a crow. 

For me, crows have a very powerful and personal meaning.  They are said to see past, present and future, and are highly intelligent.  This little guy is my own personal good omen and a reminder to live in the moment.  Do you have any tattoos?  What do they mean to you?

My new friend was inked by the amazing tattoo artist Andy Johnson of Cap City Tattoo here in Columbus.  You can check out his work here on his Cap City artist's page.  

As an actor, tattoos can be a point of contention.  Luckily, there are a wonderful array of cover up products available.  I am eager to try Tattoo Cosmetic's products, as they look easy to use and thorough.  Have you tried any cover up products that you particularly like?  Any not worth trying?
